Meet Dr. Patrick Nosti
Cosmetic Gynecology, Pelvic Floor Care & Women’s Reconstructive Surgery in Kansas City
Women’s pelvic and intimate health can change throughout life. Childbirth, aging, medical conditions, and natural anatomical differences may affect physical comfort, pelvic support, or the appearance of intimate tissues.
Dr. Patrick A. Nosti, MD, FACOG, is a double board-certified gynecologist and fellowship-trained urogynecologist who provides specialized care for women throughout the Kansas City area.
As the founder of Urogynecology of Kansas City, he combines experience in pelvic reconstructive surgery with cosmetic gynecology procedures, helping women explore treatment options for both functional and aesthetic concerns.
His services include labiaplasty, labia majora reduction, clitoral hood reduction, perineoplasty, hymenoplasty, revision cosmetic vaginal surgery, and treatment for pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.
A Kansas City Physician With Specialized Training
Dr. Nosti grew up in Kansas City in a family familiar with surgical medicine. His father, Dr. Juan Nosti, established a local plastic surgery practice, introducing him to the medical profession early in life.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania before graduating from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2006.
Dr. Nosti then completed his four-year Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis in 2010.
During residency, he developed a particular interest in helping women experiencing pelvic floor disorders and anatomical concerns that could benefit from reconstructive treatment.
Advanced Fellowship Training in Pelvic Reconstruction
Following residency, Dr. Nosti completed a three-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Georgetown University and MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., from 2010 to 2013.
His training included the evaluation and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and complex vaginal reconstructive conditions.
He gained experience in vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery, as well as related specialties through rotations in urology, colorectal surgery, and plastic surgery.
During fellowship, he participated in research and teaching, received recognition for his contributions, and earned certification in the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery.
Double Board Certification & Professional Qualifications
Dr. Nosti holds two board certifications through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology:
- Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, now called Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery
He is also affiliated with the American Urogynecologic Society, Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
His qualifications reflect specialized experience in both women’s gynecologic health and advanced pelvic reconstruction.
Understanding Your Cosmetic Gynecology Options
Women seek cosmetic gynecology consultations for different reasons. Some experience irritation or discomfort, while others wish to address changes following childbirth or discuss personal aesthetic preferences.
Dr. Nosti offers several surgical procedures, with recommendations based on individual anatomy, symptoms, and treatment goals.
Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty changes the size or shape of the labia minora, the inner folds of tissue surrounding the vaginal opening.
Some women consider the procedure because of irritation during exercise, discomfort from clothing, or interference with daily activities. Others are interested in changing labial appearance.
Dr. Nosti considers natural anatomy, tissue proportions, and the importance of preserving function when discussing surgical options.
Labia Majora Reduction
The labia majora are the outer folds of tissue surrounding the vulva.
Their appearance and fullness may change with aging, weight fluctuations, or natural anatomical differences.
Labia majora reduction, also called labia majoraplasty, involves removing or reshaping selected tissue.
Consultations include discussion of surgical techniques, recovery requirements, and potential complications.
Clitoral Hood Reduction
Clitoral hood reduction modifies excess skin surrounding the clitoral hood.
Women may consider this procedure because of tissue prominence, asymmetry, or aesthetic preferences.
Because the area contains delicate nerves and sensitive structures, careful surgical planning is particularly important.
The procedure may be performed alone or alongside another cosmetic gynecology procedure when appropriate.
Perineoplasty
The perineum is the tissue between the vaginal opening and anus.
Childbirth, previous surgery, or injury can affect the anatomy of this region.
Perineoplasty involves reconstructing or reshaping perineal tissues to address selected anatomical concerns.
Dr. Nosti’s background in pelvic reconstruction helps inform evaluation and treatment planning.
Hymenoplasty
Hymenoplasty involves surgical reconstruction of hymenal tissue.
Patients may consider this procedure for personal reasons and should understand its limitations, risks, and recovery requirements.
Importantly, the appearance of the hymen cannot reliably indicate whether someone has previously engaged in sexual intercourse.
Revision Cosmetic Vaginal Surgery
Some patients seek additional care after experiencing discomfort, scarring, asymmetry, or dissatisfaction following previous cosmetic vaginal procedures.
Dr. Nosti offers revision surgery for selected patients whose concerns may be addressed through corrective treatment.
Because previous surgery can change normal anatomy, consultation includes careful examination and realistic discussion of what another procedure may achieve.
Nonsurgical Intimate Wellness Treatments
Urogynecology of Kansas City also offers the O-Shot®, a procedure involving platelet-rich plasma injections.
PRP treatments are marketed for certain intimate wellness concerns, including aspects of sexual and urinary health.
However, research supporting some proposed benefits remains limited, and PRP should not be considered a replacement for established medical treatments.
Patients should discuss the available evidence, potential risks, and alternative options before proceeding.
Specialized Care for Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when the muscles and connective tissues supporting pelvic organs become weakened, allowing structures such as the bladder, uterus, or rectum to descend.
Women may experience vaginal pressure, a bulging sensation, urinary symptoms, or difficulty with everyday activities.
Dr. Nosti provides evaluation and treatment options based on the type and severity of prolapse, symptoms, and individual needs.
His surgical experience includes vaginal reconstruction and minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques.
Urinary Incontinence & Pelvic Floor Health
Dr. Nosti also treats urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders.
Some women experience urinary leakage when coughing, laughing, or exercising. Others experience sudden urinary urgency or more complex symptoms involving bladder function.
His practice provides evaluation and individualized treatment planning for urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, and related conditions.
His clinical interests also include fecal incontinence and complex pelvic disorders that may require coordinated care.
Research, Education & International Service
Dr. Nosti has participated in medical research and professional education focused on pelvic reconstructive surgery and urogynecology.
His published research has addressed pelvic organ prolapse, sacrocolpopexy, surgical techniques, and outcomes following reconstructive procedures.
He received recognition for research presentations and teaching during fellowship.
Dr. Nosti has also participated in international medical service through the International Organization for Women and Development, traveling to Rwanda to help provide surgical care for women with complex pelvic floor disorders.
Founder of Urogynecology of Kansas City
After completing his fellowship in 2013, Dr. Nosti returned to his hometown and founded Urogynecology of Kansas City.
The practice focuses on pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, reconstructive surgery, and selected cosmetic gynecology procedures.
His approach emphasizes listening to patient concerns, evaluating anatomy and medical history, and explaining appropriate treatment choices.
Consultations include discussion of potential benefits, complications, recovery expectations, and realistic outcomes.
